Dr. Fatih Birol of the IEA, director of World Energy Outlook (WEO), was invited as a keynote speaker and presented the updated analysis of the future global energy situation, followed by comments and discussions by the panelists.

Chou Siaw King, Executive Director, Energy Studies Institute (ESI), and professor at National University of Singapore, gave a keynote speech on energy situation including currently existing diversity in the region, perspectives and challenges of ASEAN, in other words, ASEAN in a whole picture in light of the reality in the region.

Prof. Schade is a leading expert in the United States on Japan's economy, industries and business, and is expected to talk about what ideal energy industries and policies should be in terms of Japan's economy and its entire domestic industry. In the panel discussion, we will discuss Japan's future energy mix, energy industry frameworks and with these in mind, basic direction of its policies.
